Yikes! Tumor markers (CEA) are spiking!!

Mom’s tumor markers have been continually going up and up. We were told to expect this after the radiation beads but it seems pretty far out for this to still be happening. She received the radiation 4 1/2 months ago now. They were down to 190 in August but started increasing right after treatment and they have now reached 820!!! Has anyone heard of CEA values this high? I’ve read some stuff that said they can become elevated but this seems extremely high, and is the highest her values have ever been. It doesn’t help when you see that normal values are 2-5 and from what I’m seeing even most cancer patients are under 100? Yikes! I tried convincing Mom that it is because the cancer is dying so fast :) but I’m anxious for the doctor to return my call so I can find out exactly what’s going on. She will have another PetScan in a few weeks and that should definately give us a better idea of what’s going on in there.
