Happy Holidays! More chemo and platelet shots for Mom
Hi guys
I hope everyone has a great holiday. Mom is doing pretty good. Just chemo every two weeks and the daily platelet shots right now. She has slipped into a groove in the treatment right now. It’s a very painful groove unfortunately because of the platelet shots which are still causing her a lot of discomfort and bone pain. But she is taking it all in stride. They made the slight change in her chemo from the Folfox to Folfuri but Mom has not mentioned any drastic changes she is experiencing between the two. She is still staying with Grams in Colorado and still has only good things to say about the University of Colorado Cancer Center. We are very happy with the treatment she is receiving there and the staff is GREAT!
We are not looking forward to the deductibles starting over on January 1st but I am trying to organize a golf tournament in Houston, Tx. around mid-February to raise some money. And it could be a lot worse! So I don’t mean to complain! We are going to apply for the Co-Pay Relief Program again this year through the Patient Advocate Foundation. That program has been such a big help to us this last year! I can’t say enough good things about them.
I will see Mom this weekend for the holidays so I’ll let you know how she is doing after I see her!
