CEA Levels are down to 80! Mom gets a week off to go to Texas :-)
Mom’s CEA levels are down to 80! Dr. Kane was very happy with Mom’s progress and gave her the week off of chemo. So Mom was feeling good at Thanksgiving dinner and gets to go home with me to Texas. She hasn’t seen her own house in over 5 months so she is very excited to go home. We will spend a day or two at her house in Bandera, Tx. and then will head over to our house in Houston for a few days. She has chemo next Friday so she will have to fly home on Thursday. Dr. Kane scheduled Mom for Folfuri and Avastin. This is great because Mom was taken off of the Avastin due to bleeding but the doctor wants to put her back on it. Also, Mom has previously been on the Folfox but Dr. Kane is switching it to the Folfuri which is similar to the 5-FU (Folfox) but has one different ingredient. They like to switch it up periodically in order to be more effective on the cancer.
Mom and I are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for Texas! I’ll let you know how the trip goes.
