Platelets too low for chemo today
Mom went in for chemo this morning but her bloodwork indicated that her platelet count was too low to receive chemotherapy. This happened last time she was scheduled for chemo but she recovered quickly last time and we are hoping she will recover as quickly this time as well. She is seeing the doctor again on Wednesday and they will redo her bloodwork then. If her values are higher then they will allow her to get the chemotherapy on Wednesday.
She was planning to spend the Labor Day weekend in Bandera, Texas to check on the house and gather some things to bring back to Colorado. We’re hoping she doesn’t have to put off the trip. If she has to stay in Colorado then I’m hoping to drive up to spend the holiday weekend with her and Grams. We will see how her bloodwork looks on Wednesday and hope her platelet count is up. None of us want Mom to miss her treatments. The faster she gets through it, the faster she can get healthy!
